Chapter 1

Queen Victoria reigned Great Britain in the nineteenth century, it was around ten o'clock at night. Mathilda, a young woman with jet black hair and large, sky blue eyes, walked along the pavement. Her large heeled boots kept her black dress from the damp floor. The lampposts above her lit the street, making the moist parts of the street glow yellow and people walking along the street become slightly clearer than they would be. The sky above Mathilda was pitch black, but stars gleamed and blinked. Mathilda admired the sky, she saw it as a painting rather than reality. She turned her head, a cosy looking building stood in front of her, but loud shouts came from the door. The shouts were clearly male, as Mathilda expected. She gripped her fingers around the dagger which was attached to her dress and cautiously entered the building.

It was warm, as she expected. There was a large fire lit at the other end of the room which she was standing in, upper class men all sat around the bar. She slowly strode over to it and sat on a stool.
“Hello there.” She said coolly to the bartender. The bartender, dressed in formal attire turned around. He was rubbing a mug with a white, stained cloth. He had a very scruffy, full beard. His brown hair was curly and wild. He grinned at Mathilda, he appeared to have a missing tooth.
“What is a lady like you doing out at this time?” He asked, “are you a prostitute?” Mathilda raised one of her eyebrows in response but said nothing.
“Could I have a bottle of whiskey?” She asked sternly.
“A whiskey?” The bartender exclaimed. Mathilda nodded. The bartender then shook his head.
“You're a woman.”
Mathilda then crawled onto the bar, knocking the pints of beer and other alcoholic beverages that men were enjoying and grabbed the bartender's shirt. She pulled out her dagger and pressed it against his throat.
“Give me the whiskey or this dagger moves.” She snarled, everyone in the building turned around and stared at her. She pressed the dagger harder against his throat.
Okay!” He shouted, Mathilda removed the dagger and smugly sat back down on her stool. The bartender brought her a large bottle of whiskey, it was almost pitch black and it glittered against the fire light.
“Thank you.” Mathilda said politely before leaving with the bottle.

Mathilda sat on a chair near the fire, on a table near her sat a suspicious looking man. His hair was silver with age. His eyes were strangely bright yellow and his pupils seemed to be lines, they were feline like. His fingers were longer than normal people's nails. They were black. Mathilda stared at him with interest, the man turned around and they made eye contact. The man smiled and walked over to her.
“Mind if we share your drink, young lady?” He asked, his voice was gentle but it was sly. Mathilda frowned at him, she looked into his eyes, then she looked at his nails. She began to grow suspicious of the man but she decided to keep him company.

After many glasses of whiskey, Mathilda was drunk. The room seemed to spin right before her eyes, she couldn't keep her balance and her thoughts were all over the place. Suddenly, the room went black and she felt as if she was peacefully sleeping.

She woke up quickly and saw that she was in an narrow alleyway, hardly any light got into it and she could just ever so slightly see the man she shared a whiskey with at the bar. He didn't seem to be drunk, but the reason why she couldn't tell was because his head was beside hers. She felt a stinging sensation in her neck.
“Are you raping me!?” She screamed, she then grabbed for the whiskey bottle near by and smashed his head with it. The man stood up and removed Mathilda's blood from his lips. Mathilda stood up and threatened the man with the smashed bottle. The man grabbed for her dress and ripped most of it, leaving one side short and the other long. He then grabbed her corset and tugged at the top of it. Mathilda, who was emotionally thunderstruck, stabbed the man with the bottle. He screeched in pain and backed away.

Mathilda found that her hair was down, it was up to her waist and it was naturally straight. She then stumbled home, with a ripped dress and a pain in her neck, leg and her back.
Yeah...so this happened...
